Jackson Parish – Press Release

Daniel W. Newell, District Attorney in and for the Second Judicial District, issues the following press release regarding the session of criminal court held on Tuesday, January 14, 2020.  The Honorable Jimmy C. Teat, District Judge, presiding:

MARY MORGAN RAMIREZ – Pled guilty, as charged, to possession of a Schedule II controlled dangerous substance.  She was sentenced to eighteen months at hard labor.  The sentence was suspended and she was placed on supervised probation for a period of eighteen months.  She was ordered to pay fines and costs. 

KENDALL LYNN KELLEY – Pled guilty to possession of a Scheduled II controlled dangerous substance.  She was sentenced to eighteen months at hard labor.   The sentence was suspended and she was placed on supervised probation for a period of eighteen months. She was ordered to pay a fine and costs. The sentence is to run concurrent with any other sentence she may serve. 

DEVONTREE JACKSON – Pled guilty to possession of a Scheduled II controlled dangerous substance.  He was sentenced to eighteen months hard labor.  The sentence was suspended and he was placed on eighteen months supervised probation.  He was ordered to pay fines and costs His sentence is to run concurrent with the sentence he is serving in Lincoln Parish. 

WILLIAM PALMER – Pled guilty to possession of a Schedule II controlled dangerous substance and possession of a Schedule I controlled dangerous substance. He was sentenced to two years at hard labor.  The sentence was suspended and he was placed on two years supervised probation.  He was ordered to pay fines and costs. 

DAVID BROWN – Pled guilty to failure to register as a sex offender.  He was sentenced to two years at hard labor.  The sentence was not suspended.  He was given credit for time served.  The sentence is to run concurrent with any other sentence he may be serving. 

BYRON FORD – Pled guilty to two counts of possession of a Schedule II controlled dangerous substance.  He was sentenced to two years at hard labor on each count.  The sentence was suspended and he was placed on two years supervised probation.  He was ordered to pay fines and costs.  The sentence is to run concurrent with another sentence he received. 

BYRON FORD Pled guilty to possession of a Schedule II controlled dangerous substance.  He was sentenced to two years at hard labor.  The sentence was suspended and he was placed on two years supervised probation.  He was ordered to pay fines and costs.   The sentence is to run concurrent with another sentence he received.

AMANDA LYNN SKIPPER Pled guilty to possession of a Sch.  II controlled dangerous substance.  She was sentenced to two years at hard labor.  The sentence was suspended and she was placed on two years supervised probation.  She was ordered to pay the cost of court.  The sentence is to run concurrent with another  sentence she received.

AMANDA LYNN SKIPPER – Pled guilty to simple burglary.  She was sentenced to five years at hard labor.  The sentence was suspended and she was placed on supervised probation for a period of two years.  She was ordered to pay restitution to the victim in this matter and all cost of court.
