Jackson Parish – Press Release

The office of the District Attorney, Daniel W. Newell issues the following press release regarding the session of criminal court held on Tuesday, November 7, 2019.  The Honorable Jimmy C. Teat, District Judge, presiding:

ROBERT ELLIS – Pled guilty, as charged, to driving while intoxicated 4th offense.  He was sentenced to 10 years at hard labor.  His sentence is to run concurrent with his two sentences in Ouachita Parish.  He was given credit for time served.    

BRANDON LAMKIN – Pled guilty to possession of a Scheduled II controlled dangerous substance and simple criminal damage to property in a felony amount.  He was sentenced to two years at hard labor on each count.  The sentences were suspended and he was placed on two years felony probation.  He was ordered to pay restitution, fines and costs.

ZACHARY FISHER – Pled guilty to simple burglary.  He was sentenced to three years at hard labor.  The sentence is to run concurrent with his sentences in Union and Lincoln Parish.  He was given credit for time served. 

BRANDY CHESTNUT – Pled guilty to possession of a Schedule II controlled dangerous substance. She was sentenced to two years at hard labor.  The sentence is to run concurrent with her probation revocation in another case.

WILLIE HART – Pled guilty to possession of a Schedule II controlled dangerous substance.  She was sentenced to eighteen months at hard labor.  The sentence was suspended and she was placed on eighteen months supervised probation with the Department of Probation and Parole. She was also ordered to pay fines and costs.
